My Approach to Therapy

Starting therapy is an act of courage. It means you're ready to look inward and begin asking questions that don’t always have easy answers. You might be someone who’s used to figuring things out on your own, and maybe that’s worked well in many areas of your life. But sometimes, what helped you succeed also starts to hold you back.

We all carry stories about who we are and how we’re supposed to live. These stories often come from early experiences, family dynamics, cultural expectations, or quiet messages we picked up along the way. Over time, they can turn into invisible rules that tell us how to be good enough, successful enough, or lovable enough. When we begin to outgrow those rules, it can stir up anxiety, self-doubt, or shame. But what you might actually be experiencing in those moments is growth.

Therapy is a space to pause and reflect. It’s not a quick fix or a one-size-fits-all solution. It’s not something I do to you. It’s something we do together. My role is to help you step outside of old patterns so you can see things more clearly and move through life with more intention and freedom.

I approach therapy as a collaborative and relational process. I bring warmth, curiosity, and insight, and I’ll also offer practical tools when they’re helpful. I take the work seriously, but I also believe therapy can feel deeply human, full of humor, complexity, and connection.

I’m trained in several evidence-based approaches, and I draw from them flexibly depending on what’s most useful for you. Some of our work might be reflective and exploratory, helping you understand the deeper “why” behind your patterns and defenses. Other times, it might be more concrete and practical, identifying strategies to create healthy habits, manage anxiety, improve relationships, or navigate life transitions.

What matters most to me is that we work together in a way that feels meaningful, empowering, and grounded in who you are. Real change doesn’t just happen in the therapy room. It shows up in the choices you make, the way you speak to yourself, the boundaries you set, and the life you create.

If you're ready to get curious about your inner world, to challenge what’s no longer working, and to move toward a life that feels more like your own, I’d be honored to walk alongside you in that process.
